Useful journalism. Clear ownership.
PULSE connects industry developments with the practical work of running a safer, better-maintained business.
Why we publish
The important part of a story is often what it prompts you to check, question or change. We cover safety, electrical work, machinery, maintenance and compliance, looking across Great Britain from our base in Cornwall.
Who is behind PULSE
PULSE is a Harvtec publication, operated by Philip Harvey trading as Harvtec. Harvtec provides electrical, engineering, maintenance, LEV and compliance services. This magazine supports that business, and relevant articles link to those services. It is not an independent regulator, certification body or trade association.
How the editorial desk works
We use AI-assisted research, drafting and editorial checks, directed by Harvtec’s editorial policy. Articles are credited to the PULSE editorial desk; that byline does not mean Phil personally wrote or reviewed every article. Public primary sources support reported facts. Trade publications and relevant public newsletters help identify stories; we link to original sources and write our own commentary.
We distinguish news analysis from explainers and field guides. Publication dates refer to our articles; source and event dates are stated separately where relevant. No article quota takes priority over evidence. A service recommendation does not determine whether a claim is true.
Images and permissions
Our opening issue uses original AI-generated editorial illustrations, identified on article pages. They do not depict the reported incidents or prove customer work. We do not republish trade-magazine photographs or private email content.
Corrections and review
Each article shows when its sources were checked. We aim to review guidance within 90 days and sooner when material changes come to our attention. Material corrections receive a dated note. To flag an error, contact Harvtec with the article title, the claim and a supporting source.
Practical limits
Articles provide general information for Great Britain unless stated otherwise. They do not replace competent advice, a site-specific risk assessment, statutory examination or management responsibilities. Harvtec’s service scope is agreed for each job. Harvtec can arrange statutory LEV examination through a competent examiner; we do not claim to be that examiner.
Partners and commercial relationships
At launch, service recommendations are for Harvtec only. If partner or sponsored material is introduced, the relationship will be clearly identified. We do not imply that the sources we cite endorse Harvtec.
